Nazinga Game Ranch

Nazinga is located a few hours south of Ouagadougou. We have done five safari trips to the park and have seen Antelope, Bushbuck, Waterbuck, Crocodiles, Roan Antelope, Warthog, Baboons, various types of monkeys, Owls, Vultures, a couple of “Bushbabys” and tons of other birds. By far the best encounters are with the Elephants. The park has lodges that give you the real African bush experience. Power is only on for a few hours and water, if you have it, is not hot. The food is locally caught bush meat, but prepared to be very tasty. Warthog has been our favorite.

The local guides, previously poachers, are very informative and brave…or stupid! They always want you to be able to get good photos, so calling the elephants by provoking them is normal. Elephants also like to chase a vehicle when driving away, much like a very large dog!
