I started photography after leaving my job as a Forensic medical investigator. I was able to apply a lot of the things I learned at work and continue them in a different setting. My first camera was a Nikon DSLR 5200, I still love it. The simplicity of the camera is great and the photos it can produce are exceptional. I have since expanded my photography gear, and as many photographers will tell you I can always find more stuff I “NEED”!
The more opportunities I have to take pictures, the more I love doing it. As the saying goes “If its not captured in a picture it didn’t happen.” I’m fortunate to have the abitity to do a good bit of travel and hope to take full advantage of the different places and photography opportunities they present.
I started Rockhopper Photography while living in Burkina Faso. I was lucky enough to get some work locally while there, and took some amazing photos. I was encouraged to share my work and love of photography with others. So Rockhopper Photography By Janet Tabor was born.
I have moved from West Africa to Europe and now to East Africa. I hope to be able to photograph as many countries and places as possible. Off on the new adventure we go!
